Managing Director Business & Industry
Morag comes from a competitive family of foodies and regularly pinches recipes from Culinary Director Ryan Holmes! Ryan’s coffee-grind granola and bircher muesli are now firm favourites in the Freathy household, because “they’re good for the planet and good for the gut”.
Outside work, Morag is passionate about cycling. She’s travelled Europe on a tandem bike with her husband and loves to ride around the scenic countryside of the North Yorkshire Dales.
Culinary Director
It’s no surprise that Ryan is a proud foodie – “my bookcase is almost exclusively cookbooks” – but he also loves the great outdoors. He keeps fit by running and playing football and likes to take his family on long country walks.
At work, innovation is one of Ryan’s key drivers. He relishes pushing boundaries and is especially focused on plant-based cooking and waste reduction, “really thinking outside the box, to make great dishes from produce that would otherwise go in the bin.”
MD National Accounts
Having previously run different pubs, restaurants and hotels, David’s career in the hospitality industry kicked off at an early age. Placing great emphasis on top quality ingredients, David loves all types of cuisine and savours any chance he gets to sample our new recipes.
A Liverpool fan and once a keen footballer, he now coaches his son’s team which, he says, brings with it a mix of both joy and frustration. When he’s not coaching or walking his dogs through the local deer reserve or safari park, you’ll find him playing golf – a passion that took him to Abu Dhabi last year.
Finance Director
Homemade pizza is one of Craig’s signature dishes and a family speciality – “we have the process and roles down to a tee.” When he’s not kneading dough, he’s socialising or exercising – playing football, cycling or working out at the gym.
Craig’s had multiple roles here at Compass. He started out in B&I, enjoyed stints in our security and sports teams, and now he’s back in B&I, where it all began.
Head of Marketing
With over 12 years of retail hospitality and leisure industry experience, Carol’s worked across many sectors and brands ranging from value to premium.
Carol’s an enthusiastic home baker who prioritises taste over presentation, and loves food shopping. When asked to name her favourite food, she says that’s as hard as being asked to choose a favourite from her three children! At weekends, you’ll often find Carol walking by the sea, cycling (very badly, she says) or reading.
Head of Customer Experience
Alison began her career as a chef and has nurtured a deep-seated love of food ever since – from the hands-on creativity of the kitchen to the challenge of getting every aspect of the experience “just right”.
In her spare time, Alison enjoys walking with her family on the Northumberland Coast and cooking healthy meals at home – frequently inspired by our own. Her favourite? Street Masala, which is “a great Saturday night treat.”
Sales Director
A self-professed lover of all things hospitality, Marco has 28 years of experience in the industry. Starting out as an apprentice chef aged just 15, he’s had various roles and responsibilities - from an executive chef in the world of banking to directing food strategy, operations and now sales.
When he’s not developing solutions for our clients or helping his wife juggle the schedules of their four teenage children, Marco likes to dedicate his free time to fitness.
Head of Mobilisation and Projects
Dan’s a big fan of the great outdoors, and right now that means family activities such as climbing, kayaking and paddle boarding – along with plenty of dog walks. He’s also a keen skier and looking forward to getting back on the slopes.
His favourite food is dessert – “I’ve got a particularly sweet tooth” – and especially the treats that follow a long day up the mountain, on the river, or in the snow. They’re certainly well-deserved!
Head of Culinary Operations
Jason is a keen golfer and cyclist, and a dedicated fan of his local football team, Bournemouth FC.
When it comes to food, his tastes stretch a little further afield: “I love Middle Eastern food, both cooking and eating it.” He’s an enthusiastic advocate of our Beseha range, especially the Aubergine Lehmacun Street Pizza – “slow cooked aubergine with sumac and smoked paprika, topped with halloumi. Delicious.”
