Best Waste Prevention Project Award 2023

8th November 2023

We’ve won the Best Waste Prevention Project Award at the waste2zero Awards 2023!

We secured this award for our ambitious food waste campaign, saving 39 tonnes of food and equating to 86,950 meals. Helping us achieve this result was a new waste dashboard called ‘The Source’, which we integrated into our menu management software. The Source collected useable data across 700 locations and played a starring role in allowing us to pinpoint and prevent waste at every level.

"What is particularly impressive is that the team at Eurest clearly had to work with a large team to win hearts and minds and ensure that this project was implemented successfully and effectively. It is also great to see this being rolled out across other businesses in the group and the impact it has made".

The Cateys Awards 2023

5th July 2023

Eurest’s Managing Director Morag Freathy has deservedly won the Foodservice Caterer Award at the 2023 Cateys Awards!

In 2017, Morag stepped in and fearlessly took charge of defining our vision for a new, health-conscious and sustainable approach to workplace food services. Since then, we’ve introduced plant-based menus, reduced the equivalent of 36.5 tonnes of food waste in the last year, and formed ambitious net zero goals – propelling both our sustainability efforts and those of our valued clients forwards.

Despite intense challenges over the last few years, Morag's innovative approach has allowed our workplace food services to continue to thrive - with our clients appreciating her unwavering determination to keep sustainability and social responsibility at the core of their workplace food offering.

12th December 2022

We’re incredibly proud that our Culinary Lead of Projects, Gemma Evans-Hurley made the Women to Watch & Role Models for Inclusion in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure (HTL) Index 2022.

The index celebrates female talent across the hospitality, travel and leisure industries, as well as individuals who are role modelling inclusion in its broadest sense. We knew it was only a matter of time before Gemma’s efforts to push for progression across our various sectors would gain external recognition.
