Footprint Awards 2026: Highly Commended

11th June 2026

We’re proud to have been highly commended in the Waste Prevention & Management category at the 2026 Footprint Awards, recognising the progress we’ve made in reducing food waste across our workplace restaurants and kitchens.

We were the first UK contract caterer to introduce a self-designed food waste dashboard, giving teams a detailed picture of what was being wasted and where. Every rasher of bacon and every chip left behind gets weighed.

The data shows us where to focus. Our chefs take it from there. Leftover bacon has become tortillas. Surplus porridge has been repurposed into focaccia. Chips, once our biggest waste item, have been reworked into brioche buns for a fresh take on fish and chips.

And it's working. We've significantly reduced bacon waste and brought overall food waste down. We're continuing to find new ways to waste less.

Sustainability Excellence 2026

Craft Guild of Chefs: Sustainability Excellence

10th June 2026

We're thrilled to announce that Eurest has been awarded the award for Sustainability Excellence (Large Operator) at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2026.

At Eurest, we’ve transformed the way we tackle food waste by combining the insights from our award-winning food waste dashboard with the creativity of our chefs. Using data to identify our most wasted ingredients, we’ve developed innovative recipes such as bacon tortillas made from leftover bacon, brioche buns made from surplus chips, porridge focaccia and dishes using vegetable trimmings. This approach has helped us reduce bacon waste by 13%, keep food waste to just 3.62% of food purchased by value - well below the industry average - and cut greenhouse gas emissions per serving by 10.28%.

By putting flavour first and empowering our teams to find exciting uses for surplus ingredients, we’re building a culture where great food and waste reduction go hand in hand.

Diet & Health Award – FDF Awards 2024

20th September 2024

We are delighted to be winners of the Diet and Health Award at the FDF Awards 2024!

The FDF Awards annually celebrates the diversity, dynamism and dedication of those who work in the food and drink industry. We’re proud to be an innovative, planet-first business who strive to use sustainable, ethically sourced produce to cater for workplaces across the UK.

Our commitment to providing healthy, sustainable food has seen our award-winning chefs and nutritionists replace 40% of the meat in our top 12 dishes with nutritious pulses and vegetables, with either no change, or an improvement in taste. This change produces significantly less carbon emissions but prove to be just as popular. This shift resulted in a whopping 1.9m reduction in calories, a 215,932g reduction in fat and an 88,198g increase in fibre. Additionally, we’ve seen an average saving in carbon emissions of 1.39 kg CO2e per portion and are ever closer to our ambitious goal of making 50% of our menus plant-based by 2025.
